The economy of Athens
According to athenscity.com
"The total contribution for the economy of Athens has been distributed among the three main sectors:
Services.
Industries
Agriculture.
These three sectors contribute fairly in enhancing the economy of the city".
That's what a tourist site days. It's not accurate. There are no farming lands in Athens City or its suburbs.
What they say applies to Attica, the region Athens is in.
The government of Greece (including local authorities I add) is indeed "the major source of employment for the people living in Athens and Greece."
Effect: That means that if you rent apartments to them you have much lower tenant risks.
Young Greeks from other parts I've met in Athens, eg Larissa, are getting teacher jobs in Athens or its government and local authorities (eg KEP) and need a place to rent for 1, 2, 3 years. They may get a transfer to another city later or not. When they get married they will move to another flat and you get to set a new rent level.
When bachelors they rent 20, 30 maximum 40m2 if their mothers spoiled them.
Greeks don't like to flatshare. Neither do your children maybe.
